ive been seriously not been taking enough photos lately, as in serious photography stuff, heres a share of me with the 50mm at debate training. FX has set this lense on a whole new plane. its like it was built for it.

its a vivitar! 19-35 3.5-4.5. performs well. ts my new working lense!

so its Ms Catherine's birthday. we headed out for a picnic at the botanical gardens after a rather shitty night before. anyway.

recently i've been quite fascinated by my lenses. ive decided to push them to their limits. forget sunny 16 rule. this is called wide open photography. i bet your zoom lense cant compete no matter how much u paid for it.

and so they came and went. i caught their training session and the actual game against the singapore lions (or rather kittens). 200mm was way not enough. not even by a long shot. but i was there to enjoy not to shoot. but i was so engrosed in the game i was shocked when i took up a glance at the sky and it was such a dramatic scene. awesome.

i havent updated this blog in 6 weeks. thats rare on my part. but doesnt mean i havent been taking any photos.

so here is to share two i took 2 weeks back. old school style. using just a torch light and a lamp! with the 55mm 2.8 ais micro mounted on my d700.

daniel lent me this beauty on a long term t loan. now that he is in australia.

a monster on full frame. sometimes u have so much to take u dont know what to take.

the 55 is so damn freaking sharp even wide open. brilliant

well i did come in half way. thanks to certain unnecessary requirements. however i had fun. made friends. from commandos from SCDF and of course the service dudes. its been a steep learning curve. and more or less i have managed to mold a little of myself to fit the requirements of an instructor. of course where possible i have made this appointment my own and do it the way i deem fit within boundaries of course.

anyway, the POP was awesome. i had a great time photographing. i wish i could do more of that.

3 contingents my service got merged into platoon 1.

Ladies and Gents, a new age has dawned. its the age of full framed lenses, excellent noise control. and plain more awesome photographs. as if they werent awesome already! alright ego here! anyways. check out this shot of cheryl i took. its using the nikkor 20mm prime. HOW FREAKING WIDE IS THAT!?!?!

awesome. one off shoe flash. and a reflector to fill. its a picture that made me go ohh my gosh. i hope it had a similar effect.

i fell in love with the 105. however it had its limitations, it was manual focus and rather long. ive been drooling over the 35 for much time now and after paintball i found out why. its an awesome "take photo of friends" lense!

it was an awesome day. eventhough a little sleep deprived and i had been constantly delaying the need to rest, i was probably running off the energy from the people around me. i borrowed a 35f2 and the results were just fantastic. sharp, contrasty. you honestly cant ask more from a lense.

at the checkpoint on the malaysian side

after our last game. i got shot in the eye even after being "killed". obviously the other team was a little too trigger happy. after a shower and a quick bus ride down to singgah selalu for dinner which was an awesome way to end it all. we all had our own meals plus drinks plus ice kacang plus shisha and we paid 8 sing per person. fantastic. you cant get better at twice the price
