| film, my old friend |

Looking through my old flickr photos, really got me thinking about my old leica. I am kicking myself now thinking how I could have ever sold the thing. Back when i had to be precise with exposure, with the framing, with the focus.
I wanna shoot on film again. |

It was a little nerve wrecking standing in the photographers pit again. The last time i was shooting at a gig was almost a year ago. Then i had all the gear i was comfortable with. However at the DCFC concert, i seemed to have found my ground quite quickly. I had to.
one of the first few shots on the 20mm.
Not being able to edit on raw meant i had to get everything pretty spot on. Somehow Im kinda liking the chaos that went wrong in this one.
and this one as well. So i plonked on the 85mm and pop, money shot.
Great great fun. security chased us out after the second song. Which meant i could get some awesome video. Damn. |

| I have been away for awhile now |

Yes it has been sometime now. Since i began working, the camera has not been used much on a personal capacity. So i set out to do just that. Doing what I love to do most. Control the frame.
So paired up with these two amazing dancers to shoot a video as part of their 12.12 project. this is the result.

So over the weekend, went for my first ever diving trip as a leisure diver after getting my license last year.
The short trip had done me much good, with plenty of sun, sand sea and diving! As i post this photo, i miss this place already. until next time i guess.
the sunset on the first day, pity it hid behind the island, but it just meant it was time for dinner and prep for night dive. |

these feet are mine, and mine alone. they have been responsible for taking me to the places i have been and are going to go. i have been thus grateful for them and am satisfied with their performance thus far.
it feels great to post a photo again. it gives me great pleasure, to so an end product of work ive done. this was taken when i forced myself to remove my nikon from the dry cab and into my bag. hopefully the leica will soon follow suite. |

it has become very apparent that i am taking lesser photos. actually im still taking loads of em, just on my phone. too easy. so when Mr. Rudi Osman asked me to photograph AVA at substation during the Caracal album launch, i took the opportunity to rent a lens. the 24 1.4. sure it was expensive, but without it, surely my photos would not have turned out as i had hoped.
walking into the place as the first band still playing.

the christmas season.
the parents after the midnight mass. the fairy lights outside church provided for some beautiful bokeh.
he is my cousin but my brothers friend. hahahha. nick is somehow related i know it.
the usual family portrait after mass. i thought my denim suit looked awesome.
the christmas tradition was moved this year to a lunch on the 25th instead this year due to the scott family only flying in that morning.
thats the usual candle lighting and cake cutting. dave is missing. followed by lunch, and then the present exchange bit.
stefs smile never fails. shes gonna grow up to be one heck of a looker.
